Ivan, an displaced person from the town of Siversk in Bakhmut district, has lived through some difficult times. During the full-scale war, he and his daughter Oksana were forced to move to Kyiv. For many years, Ivan worked as an operator at the treatment facilities of the Lysychansk Oil Refinery.

With age, his eyesight began to weaken, and Ivan underwent lens replacement surgery, which, unfortunately, was unsuccessful and subsequently his vision became even worse. His daughter Oksana saw information about the opportunity to receive highly qualified medical care for elderly people affected by the war. She filled out a form on the Dobrobut Foundation website, and our manager contacted her the next day.

A week later, Ivan Ivanovych came for a consultation with ophthalmologist Bohdan Ivnev. At the Dobrobut ophthalmology clinic, doctors work with modern equipment and according to international standards, which allows them to treat diseases of the vitreous and retina as effectively as possible.

The doctor also performed an intravitreal injection, which is a treatment method that helps to combat vision problems that appear with age.

In a week after the intervention, Ivan will return for an additional examination to determine whether the injection treatment is sufficient or whether surgery will be necessary.

“We have been everywhere and done everything. We were charged a lot of money, but the doctors did not help us in any way. I filled out the form without any hope of getting help. We are very grateful to the Foundation for its support! The situation is very difficult, not every doctor will take on such treatment,” – says Ivan Ivanovich’s daughter, Elena.
